Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Louise J. (Spiek) Przech, 94, of Newington, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife for more than 50 years of the late Walter J. Przech. Born and raised in Bristol, she was one of ten children, of the late Frank and Mary (Sokol) Spiek. A Newington resident since 1954, Louise retired from the Hartford Hospital Emergency Dept. after many years of employment. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Newington, and enjoyed many summers camping at the Witch Meadow Campground in Salem. Devoted to raising her children throughout the years, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and leaves four children; David Przech of Holland, VT, Ronald Przech of Newington, Janet Taft and her husband Tom of Venice, FL, and Walter Przech and his wife Colleen of Newington; eight grandchildren Jeffrey Przech, Ronald Przech, Jr., Brian Taft and his wife Susie, Christopher Taft and his wife Sarah, Kim Przech, Erik Foreman, Alex Duval and his wife Haley, and Andrew Duval; and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Henry "Ben" Spiek; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Nancy Duval and her grandson Jonathan Taft, a brother and seven sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, Jan. 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest with her husband and her daughter in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
